Watmaugh Ranch, located in Sonoma Valley, is planted mainly to the Hyde-Wente clone of Chardonnay. Situated in a cooler area of the valley, our Chardonnay fruit sees extraordinary hangtime therefore giving the wine exceptional flavor concentration and beautiful color.
Our Chardonnay was fermented in both barrel and stainless steel and aged sur lie giving the wine a beautiful creamy texture. The wine was aged for twelve months in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels.

2016 Pinot Noir
A portion of this Pinot Noir comes from Napa’s Carneros region. Fruit grown here develops concentrated flavors with fine, lush, and round tannins. Additionally, Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir fruit is part of the blend, offering fruit with bright aromatics, soft character, and very good acidity.
This wine was crafted with traditional winemaking techniques including the use of 100% French oak. This classic new world meets Burgundy approach gives the wine depth and layers of complexity.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon
Pope Valley—the leading source for our Cabernet Sauvignon fruit—is located at a high elevation, with long days of sunlight and very cool evenings. The soil here has high iron content which adds interesting complexity and richness to the wine. We also build upon this with fruit from Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, where Cabernet Sauvignon reigns king.
This wine consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, seamlessly blended with a small amount of Merlot, Syrah, and Malbec. After a combination of open and closed-top fermentation, the wine was then aged for twelve months exclusively in French oak.
